The Air Force continues to have pilot retention problems, despite increasing the minimum service requirement from 8 to 10 years. They are considering several new ideas, including larger bonuses, increasing minimum service to 12 years, and allowing partial retirement where a pilot might work three days a week for the military and two days a week for an airline.--Stephen V Cole
